Test Preparation

All the tutoring at Bartelt Education Center has the set goal of preparing each student for personal success in their grade level at school for the yearly state of California STAR testing program. Our philosophy is this: If a student learns his/her grade level material and concepts on a daily basis then the STAR test results will reflect that commitment to their personal success.

Over the years of being in business our level of achievement with students shows an average gain of 1.6 academic years in a 30 hour tutoring program.

GED Preparation

We will help prepare you for taking the GED test. Much self-study and homework must be done on your own. There are five areas of study that will be tested: writing, mathematics, social studies, science and language arts (reading). The average amount of time needed to prepare you for the GED test is 3 to 6 months. Be prepared to put in ample amounts of study time in order to pass the test.

Independent and Home School Programs

The Bartelt Education Center offers a special program for independent and home school students. The students come to our center Monday - Thursday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. These students bring their assigned lessons and textbooks with them each day. We tutor each student, as needed, in their subject areas developing good study and learning skills which in turn promotes personal success and confidence.

Any number of these students are advanced students who want to stay at the top of their learning ability and to maintain the highest G.P.A. possible. This enables the advanced student to successfully attain grants and scholarships for the college or university of their choice.

Arrangements for these programs need to be made with the cooperation of the student's school district. We work closely with the student's assigned teacher from the school district.

These programs are for students who need extra help as well as those who are advanced and want to finish their grade level at their own rate.
